I am starting 2012 with a little stash busting exercise. My first mission, since I need dish cloths, is to use up all my dish cloth cotton. So far, I’ve got three nice ball band dishcloths. The first two are the standard 45 stitch size on 4.5 mm needles. I found that this required 6.5 pattern repeats to come out squarish, and was a bit larger than I wanted (9.5 in), so the third one is a 39 stitch size, 5.5 pattern repeats (8 in). Still 2.5+ balls of cotton to go.

I’ll bet some of you are stash busting too. What are you making?

Hello
In 2001 we travelled to PEI. Stopped at McCausland on the way in and on the way out. Stocked real good. Now what is left is being transformed into socks for WarmHands who will be sending them to the James Bay Cree at Mosenee.Happy spinning and knitting.
Happy New Year, Paula! I’m stash-busting, but not so much yarn — other crap in the house. Little by little by little by little….. :)
I finished a shawl started as a Christmas project and it used 3 balls (almost)of fine lace weight light green yarn that I knit with 3 strands (thus using most of 3 balls). Now I have one small ball of fine lace weigh yarn that I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with but put back in my stash! But I am making progress.
Happy New Year.
I’ve re-organized my stash and hope to work through a few balls of cotton too. I got the idea recently to use the clear drawers and I’m liking it, because I don’t have to lift out a pile of boxes; I just have to open a drawer. I’m quite pleased by the look and ease of it.
Stay well.
